Az to Nm...whew - we're tired!

We've arrived at our hotel in Tucumcari (too-come-car-e) New Mexico and it's a little before 9:00 and several hours later than we had expected.  We started the day off after a great nights sleep bright eyed and ready to go.  We had about 7.5 hrs. drive in front of us but we were ready.  What we didn't calculate were the side trips that we took!  We had a good time, but took a bit longer than we should have!  Guess that's part of the fun of travel.

Meteor Crater just outside of Flagstaff was the first thing to sidetrack us...Between the cows in the road and the area not being opened yet we unfortunately didn't get to see the crater.  Sigh...oh well back on the road we went.











 
Our next stop was supposed to be a quick potty break for both the 2 & 4 legged passengers.  Instead it turned into a photo-shoot, a geo-cache search/find, and some nose work practice for Oliver.  While we know we weren't making any progress getting down the road, we were all having a good time!

Back on the road and in no time we made it to NM
































We stopped for dinner in Albuquerque, but before we ate, we took the dogs on an afternoon walk in the park.

That's it for tonight...gotta get some sleep so we can see what adventures tomorrow holds

    I am eating lunch at my desk (someone told me that is unhealthy but oh well) and getting caught up on Team Second Chance's Adventure. WOW...you all know how to make a road trip FUN. :) I love that you are Geo-Caching and doing Nose Work along the way. Wonderful training for Oliver. The Triple D theme is great also. The food at Salsa Brava (?) looked yummy but the Margarita on the Rocks is making my mouth water :)
    You two are my travel heros! You are so organized and seem to think of everything! I love the travel crates for the room. So much easier than hauling crates in and putting them back together. I showed my husband, John, the picture and he was quite impressed ("why didn't you think of that he says?") haha..Although his next comment was, "Riley would probably run around the room..in his tent". I still might try it though. Bug is getting so tall. He looks so big and proud posing for pictures with his big brother and sisters.
