We survived day 1: CA to AZ

Well we made it...our original plan was to drive a short day for the sake of getting back in the swing of things and we're glad we did!  Takes a bit to manage 4 dogs in/out for potty & water breaks and it definitely takes more than 1 or 2 trips to get all we needed into the hotel!

We learned it gets dark at 4:30 in AZ which is why we decided to stop before we got to Flagstaff to walk the dogs.  Wanted them to all have a chance to stretch their legs as well as get a bit of energy out! 

Dinner tonight was FABULOUS!!!  We ate at Salsa Brava...a Diners, Drive-in's & Dives recommended place..the food was wonderful and filled both our bellies right up!

We're in the hotel getting us and the dogs settled. Tomorrow's drive is a bit longer, and takes us all the way into NM.
